►Dorsett was the first carpet mill to extrude and manufacture a BCF Olefin yarn for outdoor & marine applications. This was introduced in 1987.
►Dorsett’s former sister company, P&G, was the first company in the carpet industry to recycle carpet waste into needle punch products for commercial carpet padding and automotive underlay.

First UV Stabilized BCF (Bulked Continuous Filament) Polypropylene
Dorsett was the first mill to develop a BCF polypropylene yarn system with UV stability that could be used in an outdoor product for the marine industry. This was introduced to the marine trades in the fall of 1987.
First Stainless BCF Commercial Nylon Yarn System
Dorsett pioneered the first BCF Stainless Nylon yarn system to the commercial carpeting trades in January of 1988. This product carried a No Stain warranty, even in high traffic commercial installations.
